Intimacy Coordinator
As an intimacy coordinator, Aimy is responsible for facilitating safer, consent-driven sets and maintaining professional and artistic standards for scenes of simulated sex, nudity, and intimacy. They serve as an advocate for talent and crew, keeping in mind emotional and physical wellbeing, while serving the director’s overall artistic vision. This work can include liasing with multiple departments, consent training, chemistry excercises, choreography / movement work, and creating environments that support vulnerability and artistic expression. Scenes that may use an intimacy coordinator can include kissing or simulated intimate touch, partial or full nudity, simulated sex, simulated sexual violence or assault. Productions may also choose to employ an intimacy coordinator to develop moments of platonic intimacy or to create believable and specific physicality while establishing comfort with cast and crew.
Aimy is certified by IDC, a SAG-AFTRA accredited program and has completed additional training with a number of other organizations. Recent credits include Somebody Somewhere Season 2 (HBO), Single Car Crashes, and more. Aimy brings to her practice as an intimacy coordinator experience in movement, conflict mediation, community accountability, DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) facilitation, LGBTQIA+ advocacy and education, film production, and theater. Aimy also has training in mental health first aid and sexual assault crisis intervention. They are committed to continuing to establish cultures of consent across the film industry.
